4U Shells
4U+ Shells
The 4U+ has a few differences from the 4U. These are as follows:
- The 4U+ features two extra base characters: Candy Pakupaku and Lovesoratchi. These two were featured as Touch Spot characters for the 4U as well, and have been preserved on the fan app in that form.
- The 4U+ has four new personality stages: one for Candy Pakupaku, one for Lovesoratchi, one for Himespetchi, and one for Melodytchi.
- The 4U+ does not have an English menu patch, while the 4U does. Also, EDITNAME does not work on the 4U+, so please keep that in mind when using the app and when naming yourself while starting up the device.
- The 4U+ features two new locations:
- Tama Farm: Unlocks after 20 NFC touches. You may visit once a day to plant and water a crop. After several days, the plant will be fully grown and can be harvested.
- Encounter Street: Unlocks after 50 NFC touches. As an adult, you may send your Tamagotchi here to meet other Tamagotchis and go on dates with them. After going on enough dates with a Tamagotchi, the player's Tamagotchi can marry it. This serves as a more spontaneous alternative to the matchmaker.
- The games available at the Game Corner are different between the two devices. The 4U features Bowling and Spaceship, while the 4U+ features Bamboo Treasure and Make-a-Cake.
- In addition to bingo, gashapon, slots, and special animations, the 4U+ has a few extra NFC rewards in the form of quizzes, fortune cookies, and souvenirs from Traveltchi.
- The 4U+ has a special concept called Powered-Up Items. Obtained from Touch Spots or the app, these items have a small bubble with a !? in the top right corner, indicating their status. When exchanged between two 4U+ devices, these items can evolve up to three times. However, when sent to a 4U, they act as normal items and do not transform.
